For term 1 we have carefully curated four workshops that we think are crucial to the foundations for your academic success. We call them 'Four Steps to Success'
There are 3 opportunities to enjoy these workshops. The first two series start in week 2 of term and the third series starts in week 7 (for those students who missed out first time around)

Doctoral Academic Writing (DAW T3)
These workshops cover academic literacy, essay writing and study skills as well as looking at higher level scholarly writing and expectations for completing a research degree. Academic Writing for Science
This course, which comprises 7 sessions, is suitable for students on all science programmes at the university and at all degree levels. Topics include:
- Written organisational skills
- Making effective use of sources
- Appropriate academic style
- Language skills for research reports
- Writing an effective data commentary
