Getting started in Psychology

Welcome day: Thursday 17th September

On Thursday 17th September 2026 from 13:00-16:00 you will have some scheduled induction meetings to get to know the department.

The purpose of academic induction is to introduce you to your academic programme, complete any necessary pre-registration tasks, and meet fellow students and academic staff.

Timetabling

Your detailed personal timetable will be available to view and download in MyExeter from 14th September.

Teaching commences on Monday 21st September 2026.

All timetabling is organised centrally by the Timetable Team. Students with timetabling queries should use the timetabling enquiry form in SID and search for category 'Timetabling'. During the first two weeks of each term, timetabling staff are also available in-person at the Hub info points to discuss any timetabling issues, Monday to Friday, 10-12 and 2-4 PM.

For further information about your timetable, please see the timetabling webpages.

Additional information for MSc Conversion (Psychology) Students

It is very important for this programme that you are ready to start your studies on Monday, 22nd September, as the content progresses quickly, particularly in statistics and biological psychology, making it difficult to catch up on, and any students starting late will miss out on some of the support sessions. If you have any concerns about this, please contact us by email: info.peterchalk@ex.ac.uk or telephone: +44 (0)1392 723788

On this programme, you will also take some modules in the Graduate School of Education, part of the Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences - please also familiarise yourself with the Faculty webpages.
